Biography: Osamu Sato received his Ph.D. degree in 1994 from the University of Tokyo. He started his academic career in 1994 at the Photochemical Conversion Materials Project at the Kanagawa Academy of Science and Technology as a researcher. In 1998, he became Director of the Special Research Laboratory for Optical Science at the Kanagawa Academy of Science and Technology. From 2005, he was a professor at the Institute for Materials Chemistry and Engineering at Kyushu University. His research focuses on the development of molecular magnets and molecular dielectrics, including photo-responsive magnets, electronic ferroelectrics and nonferroelectric polar compounds.
