Biography: Professor Desheng Fu is a leading materials scientist in the Department of Electronics and Materials Science at Shizuoka University, Japan. He received his Ph.D. in Condensed State Physics from Sun Yat-sen University in 1994 and has since held research and academic positions at Sun Yat-sen University, Shizuoka University, the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), and the Tokyo Institute of Technology before becoming a full professor at Shizuoka University in 2013. He also serves as Guest Professor at the Shanghai Institute of Ceramics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, fostering international collaboration.

Professor Fu’s research centers on condensed matter physics and functional oxides, with a particular emphasis on ferroelectrics, piezoelectrics, and relaxor materials. His pioneering studies on relaxor ferroelectrics and oxide perovskites have significantly advanced understanding of the interplay between structure, domains, and physical properties. He has authored more than 121 peer-reviewed papers, including publications in Physical Review Letters, and has contributed several books and patents in the field. His vision is to create functional materials that not only advance science but also contribute to a more sustainable society.
